Emma Kathleen Grosserode and Dembe Koi Stephanos were married on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at The King's Centre in Johnson City, TN. Rev. Carolyn Claiborne officiated the 4:30 p.m. exchange of vows.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Grosserode, of Johnson City, TN. She is the granddaughter of Mr. James Grosserode, of Tulsa, OK, and the late Catherine Knievel Grosserode; and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Land of Oak Ridge, TN.
The bride holds a master's degree in pharmacology from Columbia University and bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Clemson University.
The groom is the son of Mr. William Stephanos and Ms. Marnie Carnes of Athens, GA, and Ms. Mira Gerard of Johnson CIty, TN. He is the grandson of Ms. Birgit Hurlen-Skriletz and Ms. Wendy Roper of Ontario, Canada, and the late Arnold Roper, Mr. Jonas Gerard of Asheville, NC, Mr. and Mrs. Judith and Shipp Webb of New Hampshire, and Ms. Joan Cazinha of Arizona.
The groom holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from East Tennessee State University, and has recently completed work as technical consultant for a successful congressional campaign in New Jersey.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Bridesmaids were Sophie Grosserode, Alice Grosserode, Hartney Deegan, and Alyssa Shearer.
Groomsmen were Silas Stephanos, Owen Grosserode, Ben Phillips, and Julia Broding. Jonah and Jacob Shelton, cousins of the bride, served as ring bearers.
After a wedding trip to the Twin Cities, the couple will be residing in New York, NY.
